Traveling through southern Peru was much more than visiting famous landmarks—it was an emotional journey through breathtaking landscapes, ancient history, and living cultures that continue to preserve traditions passed down for centuries. Every place we visited had its own story, but what truly connected them all was the passion and authenticity with which they were presented. Nelida made this trip so special. She is far more than an excellent guide; she is someone who genuinely loves her country and has an extraordinary passion for sharing that with others. Her knowledge of Peru’s history, archaeology, nature, and local traditions was remarkable, but what impressed me even more was her warmth, kindness, and constant dedication to every member of the group. We were a family of 6 and my kids loved her. Every conversation, every explanation, and every recommendation reflected her genuine desire for us to understand not only what we were seeing, but why it matters. Her positive energy, professionalism, and sincere care transformed an already incredible itinerary into something truly unforgettable. Throughout the journey, everything was perfectly organized. Transportation, accommodations, logistics, and every detail were handled with professionalism. We also would love to highlight the easy communication with Junior who helped us with all the organization. Peru is one of the most diversed countries I’ve ever visited. Its dramatic mountains, rich history, vibrant traditions, and welcoming people create an experience unlike anywhere else in the world. Want to have a long Thank you for an unforgettable 15-day journey in Peru! From the beginning until our final goodbye, everything was incredibly well organized and exceeded my expectations. We were a family of 5 on a private journey. We explored amazing places, learned so much about history and culture, and experienced breathtaking landscapes that photos simply can't capture. We contacted them and asked to modify one of their advertised packages, and they never hesitated. We did exactly what we wanted; the itinerary struck a great balance between sightseeing, local experiences, and time to enjoy each location. Our guide Pedro was knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about sharing historical insights and his funny anecdotes. Every detail was seamlessly arranged, making our experience completely stress-free. The hotels, transportation, and activities were all excellent, and we always felt safe. Pedro will remain in our memories for a long time; he took us to meet wonderful local people and, of course, enjoy incredible food along the way. Every day brought something special and memorable. Cusco is very impressive Our trip was handled seamlessly by Wayna Trekkers. Junior was very responsive throughout, even managing a 10-hour flight delay and personally picking us up at midnight, then smoothly adjusting our schedule. Our guide Nico was extremely knowledgeable about Inca history, culture, and archaeological sites. He explained everything in a clear and engaging way, and his enthusiasm really brought the ruins and Sacred Valley to life. He was also very patient in answering questions and made sure we were comfortable throughout the tour. From Flight Delay to a Memorable Journey — Thank You Wayna Trekkers Our Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu trip with Wayna Trekkers was a wonderful experience from start to finish. My main contact, Junior, communicated clearly and promptly throughout the entire planning process and during the trip, which made everything feel smooth and stress-free. We had an unexpected 10-hour flight delay arriving in Cusco, but Junior stayed in close contact with me the whole time. Despite the late arrival, he personally picked us up at midnight, which we truly appreciated. He also adjusted our schedule slightly so we could get some rest the next morning and continue our tour without any issues. We were also very impressed with our guide, Nico. He is extremely knowledgeable and clearly proud of Inca culture and history. He shared information in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand, and his enthusiasm really enhanced the experience. One small note for future travelers: during a market visit after Machu Picchu, we were offered a piece of local fruit. While it was a nice gesture, I later experienced a bad case of diarrhea. Of course, it’s hard to know the exact cause, but it’s a good reminder to be cautious with fresh or street food if you’re not accustomed to it. Overall, the organization, communication, and quality of service made this a truly memorable trip. We booked several private experiences with them, including a Sacred Valley tour, a 2-day luxury Short Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu, and a Lima city tour. From start to finish, everything was exceptionally well organized and exceeded our expectations. Junior was our main point of contact, and he was outstanding. He responded quickly to all our questions, accommodated last-minute changes without any hassle, and gave us complete confidence throughout the planning process. It really felt like we were in good hands. Our main guide, Jose, was equally amazing. During the Machu Picchu hike, he carefully adjusted the pace based on our abilities and kept us motivated through some very challenging sections. His encouragement made a huge difference and helped us complete two difficult trails that we’ll always be proud of. Jimmi also joined us on the Inca Trail and went above and beyond—he even carried some of our extra items to make the hike more manageable. That level of care and attention really stood out. Overall, the service we received from Wayna Trekkers was far beyond what we expected. The professionalism, flexibility, and genuine care made this trip incredibly special. Inca Trail The Inca trail was such an amazing experience! Everything was perfectly organized and planned properly! Very friendly and welcoming organizers, delicious lunch provided and dinner at a wonderful restaurant in Aguas Calientes. Isao is such a great tour guide and extremely knowledgeable local person! Best team, best hike, best meals! Best experience! We completed the classic Inca Trail Trek to Machu Picchu the last week with Wayna Trekkers. Our guide Arnold was amazing. They took excellent care of our group, it was truly a personalized service with a small group as they promised to be. Our guide was knowledgeable, encouraging, funny, and made our trek a truly once in a lifetime experience. It is frankly hard to explain how unforgettable this experience was, how challenging it was and how rewarding, I am proud of my Wayna Team, they encouraged me to achieve it. If you are even thinking about booking this trek then look no further than Wayna Trekkers and ask and insist that Arnold be a part of your family! Wayna, oh my goodness! the food was amazing, congratulations to Felix for his cooking skills, our team was easy to communicate with and we never felt like we didn’t know what to expect every day. Wayna also takes very good care of their porters and cooks, pay them fairly as we heard from the porters themselves, even though our limited Spanish, and believe me these guys are a huge reason that the trek is so memorable! The best guide and cook ever!!! I Did the Huchuy Qosqo trek 3days (23-25 April) and would highly recommend that trip with Wayna Trekkers to everyone! From beginning to end the treat was extremely well organized - starting with the first communication until the drop off in Cusco! Our guide, Nelida, created a warm atmosphere for all of us, It was a lot of fun being with her. She is a great motivator. Also our cook Felix was amazing. It was incredible what he cooked. I always was curious how he was able to do all of this in a tent, he even managed to make cake. I am vegetarian and he catered all food restrictions and it was so delicious.
