Sacred Valley & Machu Picchu 2 Days / 1 Night at a Glance
Discover the beauty of the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu in 2 days, visit the impressive Inca site of Pisaq and its colorful market, and explore the circular terraces of Moray, “the agricultural laboratory of the Incas.” Understand the process of how locals in Maras produce salt, a tradition passed on for generations, completing your Sacred Valley experience with a visit to Ollantaytambo, a massive archaeological site. On the second day, see Machu Picchu in all its glory, visit the park from the inside, and unveil secrets that this enigmatic wonder of the world hides.
Day 1. Cusco, Pisac Ruins, Market, Maras Moray, and Ollantaytambo.
Full-day tour of the Sacred Valley. Early pickup at your hotel in Cusco and drive towards Pisaq, our first stop, then continue your trip throughout the Sacred Valley with stunning landscapes; we will explore the Moray terraces, the Maras salt mines, and Ollantaytambo. In the evening we train to Aguas Calientes and spend the night here. Prepare for the next day’s adventure.
Day 2: Machu Picchu, “The Lost City of the Incas”—Aguas Calientes—Return to Cusco.
Very early we take one of the first buses to Machupicchu to see the sunrise. We will explore Machu Picchu on a comprehensive 3-hour tour on circuit 2. When you have done the tour, take the bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then make your way back to Cusco, arriving at your hotel by 7:30 pm.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1. Cusco, Pisac Ruins, Market, Maras Moray, and Ollantaytambo.
The spectacular tour to the Sacred Valley & Machu Picchu will start from your hotel lobby at 07:00 am in Cusco. Travel from Cusco through the Sacred Valley to Pisac. First, we visit the fascinating archaeological site of Pisac. Here you will have a guided tour for around 1 hour, where we will visit the most important places, like the agriculture place, the cemetery of the Incas, the temple of the sun, etc. Enjoy the views from the ruin, and after visit Pisac town and Marktet before continuing on to Urubamba, arrive at around midday, we will stop at a restaurant in Urubamba.
Travel further into the valley to the Inca site of Moray, a magnificent series of circular terraces that were once used by the Incas for experimentation with crops. Next, see the salt mines, which have been in use since pre-Inca times. Water from an underground stream is channeled through pools where it evaporates and leaves behind pure salt crystals. The views are amazing with thousands of stark white pools stretching down the valley. Our final destination is Ollantaytambo ruins where we will spend an hour. Experience and understand the history of the place where the Inca defeated the Spanish. After visiting the Ollantaytambo ruin, have dinner (not included) and take the train to Aguas Calientes at 07:04 pm. Once we arrive at Aguas Calientes we check into our hotel to enjoy a comfortable night’s rest before the big day ahead.

Day 2: Machu Picchu “The Lost City Of The Incas” Return to Cusco.
Today we have the most memorable day as we will visit Machu Picchu. We will wake up early to take one of the first buses up to Machu Picchu and see the sunrise over the ruins.
Our guide will come to your hotel to pick you up then you will go to the bus station. The bus takes 20 minutes to get to Machu Picchu. Once at the entrance, we show our Passport and Machu Picchu ticket then our guide will take you to the “guardhouse” where we will have the chance for our postcard picture. Witnessing one of the 7 wonders of the World, you will have a short introduction of this enigmatic site. Our guide will explore Machu Picchu for around 3 hours with you, following circuit 2. You will visit the most important enclosures, Sacred Fountains, the Condor Temples, the Royal residences and the Sacred Plaza, insights into elite Inca life, the urban sector, the principal temples and the agricultural terraces.
Afterward, you can hike Huayna Picchu Mountain if you have signed up for this option. (This is a separate entrance ticket that costs $70 per person). Finally, you will return to Aguas Calientes by bus, then pick a restaurant of your preference for lunch, if you have time, you can buy some souvenirs before boarding your train to Ollantaytambo at around 2:55, or 4:22 pm, a van will be waiting for you to drive you back to Cusco. Finally, we will transfer you back to your hotel by 07:00 pm or 8:30 pm (Depending on the train schedule).

Booking
Arrival to Cusco.
You will be picked up by one of our team members and be driven to your hotel. For this complimentary service, ensure you send your flight details at least two weeks in advance. You have to exit the airport or bus terminal; your driver cannot enter inside.
Acclimatization to the altitude:
High altitude starts to have an effect on our bodies from between 1,500 m and 2,000 m (4,921 ft – 6,561 ft) when our bodies start to react differently to make up for the changes in oxygen levels. As you get higher, the air gets thinner, so with every breath, there is less oxygen for your body. Your body gradually adapts to getting less oxygen—you breathe faster and deeper, and the body produces more red blood cells. This takes time, so this is why if you go from low to high altitude too quickly, you may feel symptoms of altitude sickness until your body acclimatizes.
The Cusco region is generally set at very high elevations. The city of Cusco stands at a staggering 3,399 m (11,152 ft). However, people react differently to altitude sickness, and it can present itself in a variety of symptoms. Common symptoms include headache, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, poor appetite, dizziness, disturbed sleep, and, in extreme cases, loss of oxygen.
There are numbers of ways to deal with altitude sickness. Firstly, you need to acclimate by spending a few days in the Sacred Valley or Cusco. The body does adjust to the thin air; it just needs time. There are a number of ways to adjust to the altitude sickness before your Machu Picchu trip that don’t require much exertion. Get lots of sleep, relax, and take it easy. Another option is to watch what you consume, try to avoid alcohol and drugs, and also drink lots of water and coca tea. Keep your meals light, high in calories, with lots of carbs. Lastly, we recommend visiting your doctor before traveling to Peru and asking for recommendations for medication that can help with altitude sickness. These are the recommended remedies for altitude sickness: WATER, COCA TEA, and OXYGEN, IF NEEDED.

Some people change hotels after trips; therefore, we offer a free secure luggage store while touring with us. Please advise us at the briefing.
How do I pay my remaining balance?
You can pay the rest of your bill upon arrival to Cusco at our office with a card or cash if you want to avoid any extra high credit card fees. Our representative will show you the invoice confirmed at the booking time. Otherwise, you can pay by card, but you have to pay a 5.5% service fee charged by Visa and the payment gateways.
