The Inca Trail is one of the most popular treks in the world, with limited availability. If you’re planning to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, it’s essential to book your trip well in advance. Availability is influenced by factors such as the time of year, group size, and the number of permits regulated by the Peruvian government.

Only 500 trekking permits are issued daily for the Inca Trail. These permits also include spaces for support staff such as porters, cooks, and guides. Therefore, securing your Inca Trail reservation as early as possible is critical.

The dry season, from May to September, is the best time to trek the Inca Trail. However, it is also the peak season, so booking well in advance is highly recommended.
